Engineering Technician I Location: Canon City, Colorado Reports To: Engineering Manager Are you ready to advance your engineering career in a dynamic production environment? Our client, a leader in their industry, is seeking an Engineering Technician I to join their team in Canon City, Colorado. This role is crucial for supporting operational objectives and ensuring the smooth flow of the production process through various engineering tasks. Key Responsibilities: - Review project instructions and blueprints to determine specifications, procedures, and objectives. - Utilize computer-aided equipment to compute mathematical formulas and develop detailed specifications for components and machinery. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, layout, or detail components and systems; resolve design issues as needed. - Prepare and modify DXF files as required. - Inspect, review, and correct technical drawings to ensure clarity and accuracy. - Design scale or full-size blueprints for equipment and components. - Create schematic, orthographic, and angled views to illustrate functional relationships of assemblies, systems, and machines. - Verify dimensions of materials, components, or assemblies for conformance to specifications. - Evaluate designs by measuring drawing dimensions and comparing against original specifications. - Analyze existing product data and worksheets to determine basic specifications. - Work closely with Customer Service, Engineering, and Manufacturing departments to coordinate product design and scheduling to meet customer needs. - Perform all clerical and application tasks associated with the Engineering department, utilizing SAP, Excel, Word, and Outlook. - Prepare drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and all necessary documentation to ensure an efficient production process. - Maintain proficiency with SAP, Autodesk, and Microsoft Office tools. - Ability to work under tight deadlines, including overtime or alternate shifts as needed. Qualifications: - Preferably 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, including drafting. - Associate’s degree or vocational certification in computer design/drafting or a related field. - Proficiency with Autodesk, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems. - Willingness to work 2nd shift and occasional weekends. Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000, commensurate with experience.
