About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced Operations Manager for our client to oversee the daily operations of their manufacturing plant and drive production excellence. In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading plant employees, optimizing workflows, and partnering with corporate management to implement changes that support organizational growth and compliance. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency throughout our production environment. Key Responsibilities - Leadership & People Development: Supervise, coordinate, and support the activities of plant personnel. Manage hiring, training, development, and performance reviews to build a high-performing team and foster a positive workplace culture. - Production & Scheduling: Analyze and manage work orders, estimate labor requirements, and create schedules that balance customer needs with plant capacity. - Materials Management: Calculate, requisition, and inspect stock and supplies in alignment with production schedules. - Workflow & Process Optimization: Plan the flow of materials, develop optimal layouts, and interpret specifications to efficiently assign work. - Interdepartmental Collaboration: Communicate clearly with other departments to ensure production targets and customer deadlines are consistently met. - Quality Assurance: Inspect and measure products and components to confirm they meet quality standards, and lead corrective actions if standards are not achieved. - Safety & Compliance: Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies, maintaining a secure and healthy work environment. - Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement innovative measures to advance production methods, equipment performance, and overall quality. Lead lean manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives within your area of responsibility. - Recordkeeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of time, attendance, training, and production for all team members. - Strategic Planning: Develop capital equipment proposals, resource plans, and process improvements to support organizational goals and drive efficiency. - Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve production issues efficiently, assisting staff in overcoming operational challenges. Qualifications Required - Bachelor’s degree (engineering or related field). - min of 5 years of experience in operations or manufacturing management. - Proven success in implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programs (LEAN/Kaizen). - Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities. - Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite. - Management experience overseeing teams of 50+ employees in a manufacturing setting. - Familiarity with SAP manufacturing software a plus.
